In 2025 The Attic is calling out for initiatives especially on site-responsive art developed and experienced in-situ in our surroundings (see info & map below). The Attic Residency Program offers artists a context to pursue their practice in an environment dedicated to aesthetics,  ecofeminism, compassion, growth and peer-support.

Artists from all stages of professional development are invited to apply and the application is open to local, national, and internationally based artists.

The Attic Residency is run by Ars Eukaryote association members and fellows. Residency entrants are responsible for making their own travel arrangements to Rautjärvi. Picking-up/dropping off at the trainstation or bus station in Imatra can be arranged if needed.

The residency is a co-living and -learning space where residents and staff have communal use of the kitchen with all basic kitchenware, dining and living space, bathrooms and laundry room as well as our co-working space.

In our co-working space you can find basic photography/filming equipment to borrow freely, a computer for editing (reservable per hour), printers (b&w A4/A3 €0,20/ €0,40 per paper / color A4/A3 €0,80/ €1,00 per paper) and space to do your office work.

The building has wireless internet access, which is unfortunately sometimes slow because the mansion is old and doesn’t have modern wiring.

The staff/habitants of our space: Toûa (human, 30), Aleksi (human, 30), Eva (1), Armi (cat, 15), Elsie (cat, 6) and possibly a garden fellow (human, x). Our staffs designated working hours are mon–wed 10–16.
